CATECHESIS FOR
CHILDREN AND TEENS

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jn 14:6

The logo features a candle in the centre of a compass, symbolising Christ, the Light of the world, the goal and centre of Catechesis.

We are called to follow him on the way to eternal life and to radiate his light to those under our care, regardless of their age, ethnicity or social background, as symbolized by the different shades of colour around the centre.

Mission Statement

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but may have eternal life” John 3:16
So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the good news…
Those who welcomed Christ’s call and freely responded to it are themselves urged on by love of Christ to proclaim the Good News everywhere.
This treasure, received from the apostles, has been faithfully guarded and all Christ’s faithful are called to pass it on from generation to generation… (CCC 2&3)

The Catechist

Catechesis for children and teens remains one of the core ministries of any parish, and this ministry is entrusted to the catechists, faith-filled witnesses who share in Christ’s mission to proclaim the Good News and hand on the faith.
Through prayer, teaching, and example, they help children and teens come to know, love, and follow Jesus. So that the next generation, too, may believe and live as children of God.
