RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS

John:
There is the Lamb of God

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults has its roots in the early Christian Church, and is a process of preparation for any adult seeking to be baptized and become a part of the Body of Christ. In times of persecution, this preparatory period was crucial to ensure those who chose to take the risk of becoming Christians did so freely and knowingly.

In modern times, the enquirer is invited to ‘come and see’, to understand the Catholic faith, discover God’s call in their life and eventually decide their response to that call. Though the risk is far lower, the process continues to ensure that those who enter the faith do so freely and knowingly.
