Training in Child Protection & Safeguarding
presented by the
Professional Standards Office (PSO)

Background on Child Protection Policy & Training for Catechists
The KL Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy (CPP) was developed by the Committee for Child Protection under the Professional Standards Office (PSO). This policy establishes principles and protocols to safeguard the safety, well-being, and rights of all children by promoting a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment. It aligns with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Malaysian child protection laws, and the norms of the Motu Proprio Sacramentorum Sanctitatis Tutela (SST) for the protection of children.
As part of the ongoing implementation of the KL Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy, the PSO collaborates with the Kuala Lumpur Archdiocesan Catechetical Centre to ensure the safeguarding of all minors under the care of catechists,
particularly during weekly catechism classes and related activities.
