RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS

“They were faithful to the teaching of the apostles, the common life of sharing, the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Acts 2:42

The Holy Water, Dove and Chalice at the centre of the logo symbolize Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist respectively, the Sacraments of Initiation that are a sign of God’s grace in the lives of the people He has called to be His own. This process that brings about conversion and integration into the life of the Church through liturgical participation, catechesis, service and community building is the hallmark of the RCIA.

Mission Statement

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults has its roots in the early Christian Church and is a process of preparation for any adult seeking to be baptized and become a part of the Body of Christ. In times of persecution, this preparatory period was crucial to ensure those who chose to take the risk of becoming Christians did so freely and knowingly.
In modern times, the enquirer is invited to ‘come and see’, to understand the Catholic faith, discover God’s call in their life and eventually decide their response to that call. Though the risk is far lower, the process continues to ensure that those who enter the faith do so freely and knowingly.

The RCIA Facilitator

The RCIA Facilitator accompany adults on their journey of faith, helping them come to know Christ and embrace life in the Catholic Church. We share the Gospel message through teaching, prayer, and personal witness, guiding candidates and catechumens as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).
Our calling is a response to Christ’s invitation to “go and make disciples.” Moved by love for God and His Church, we walk and accompaniment them with patience, understanding, and joy — helping each person grow in faith and discover the beauty of a life rooted in Christ.
