On one hand, catechesis helps Catholics know and understand the significance of the liturgy, leading them to a more active and conscious participation in its celebration. Liturgy, on the other hand, is inherently catechetical in nature, and thereby, serves as content for catechesis.

Catechesis cannot be confined to the parish; it has to take place at home as well. In this article, we will examine the family as both the agent and the context of catechesis.
