Why is the Rite of Election celebrated? The Rite of Election is the second step in the process of Christian initiation of adults. This liturgical rite is very significant both for the catechumens and for the Catholic community for three reasons.

The fruit of the restoration is the establishment of the formal process of initiating adults into the Church known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). In this article, I will examine briefly the shape and structure of the RCIA.

Through the process, an adult who is interested in becoming a member of the Church is helped and guided in making this commitment through a series of liturgical rites and formation sessions with the support and prayers of the members of the Christian community, especially in the parish.
