At the recent Easter Vigil, thousands of adults were initiated into the Church in Malaysia and all over the world. In the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur itself, about 687 persons were baptised.

The rites belonging to the final stage of preparation and the third step of the RCIA, that is, Reception of the Sacraments of Initiation, namely Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Why is the Rite of Election celebrated? The Rite of Election is the second step in the process of Christian initiation of adults. This liturgical rite is very significant both for the catechumens and for the Catholic community for three reasons.
